It has been said by advocate Pugazhenthi that the 7 Tamils arrested are planned to be released and it is expected that March 10 will be their release date. More than 20 people were initially arrested in connection to the killing of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, and of these the ones who received death sentence made appeals to reduce it to life sentence.
After several moves, the release decision of these 7 people was left to state government, but again central government blocked it and the decision went to governor who's still not decided. There are many protests to demand releasing them but no progress made.
In such a situation advocate Pugazhenthi has revealed that they'll be released soon and March 10 might be the date of release. However, we are yet to get a confirmed report regarding this release date. The Government might soon take a decision with respect to it.
