For MDMK these Lok Sabha elections will become one of the most successful one. MDMK had earned one Lok Sabha and one Rajya Sabha seat following the election alliance discussions. Parties in good relationship with MDMK like Marxist communist, Indian communist and Viduthalai chiruthaigal have bagged 2 seats each.
Initially MDMK had asked for 3 seats but was shocked when Stalin asked if Vaiko will contest with DMK's Udhayasooriyan symbol. Since they weren't ready to do it, they demanded Rajya Sabha seat promising support in bye-election as well.
With this dealing accepted by DMK even if MDMK loses or wins in Lok Sabha elections, Vaiko will become a Rajya Sabha MP. Recently, Vaiko joins hands with DMK party and he bagged a seat for the upcoming elections. He has started canvassing the votes with his party members. Even though he faced heat from all the sides, he stood by his word. He's the one who played a major role in the closure of Sterlite.
