According to sources all three top members of the Election Commission, including chief election commissioner Sunil Arora as well as election commissioners Ashok Lavasa and Sushil Chandra addressed the media jointly. Meanwhile CEC Sunil Arora said that there was an increase of 84.3 million as compared to 814.5 million electorate in 2014. Furthermore he also added that the electorate size was 900 million in 2019 general election and added that electoral rolls will be updated till the last date of filing the nomination.



Reportedly he added that VVPATs will be used with EVMs at all the polling stations and that 17.4 lakh VVPATs were needed for conducting Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Further the CEC also promised to hold free and fair elections. Reportedly the polls are to be held in seven phases over April and May and the assembly election dates for Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Odisha are revealed by the ECI yesterday.

Accordingly first Phase is on April 11, second Phase on April 18, third on April 23, fourth on April 29, fifth on May 6, sixth on May 12 and seventh phase on May 18. Moreover the results will be announced on May 23. Apparently Lok Sabha Polls in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to have in single Phase i.e on April 11. Reports added Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagalan, Punjab, Sikkim, Telangana, Tamilnadu, Uttarakhand, Andaman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Dam and Diu will be held in a single phase.
