YS Vivekananda Reddy, former minister and younger brother of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, was found dead in the early hours of today at his residence in Pulivendula. Even though, initially, there were reports he died of cardiac arrest, the death was not natural, according to the complaint filed.
There were two injuries on his head, one each on the front and the back. YSR Congress leaders demand a CBI investigation suspecting the hand of the ruling Telugu Desam Party. On the other side, there were reports of a family feud in the media a couple of months ago, TDP alleges that this may be the work of the family for sympathy in the elections.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu ordered a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to unravel the truth in this murder. The 68-year old leader is survived by his wife and a daughter. The outcome of this case is likely to have political repercussions in Andhra Pradesh Politics and the elections which will happen on April 11th.
