PM Modi addressed the nation today and announced that India has destroyed a live low-orbiting satellite in a missile test that puts the country in the space "super league". India has become a space power and has been only the 4th country in the World after the USA, Russia, and China to receive this honor.
During Modi's address to the nation, he said, "Our scientists hot down a live satellite at a low-earth orbit. This is a proud moment for India." PM Modi also assured that this test doesn't breach any international law or treaties.

• PM Modi said that an Anti-Satellite Missile destroyed a live satellite in a span of 3 minutes
• India has entered its name in Elite Space power as our own satellite weapon A-SAT has targeted a live satellite on a low earth orbit
• 'Mission Shakti' operation was a difficult target to achieve but it was completed within 3 minutes of its launch
• So far only 3 Nations, the USA, Russia, and China has achieved this feat. Now India becomes the fourth nation to achieve this.
• Today we have lots of satellites that are contributing in various fields such as agriculture, disaster management, communication, weather, navigation etc
• Modi also assured that this A-SAT will not be used against anyone, and it is purely for India's defense and security purpose.
• Mission Shakti is special for 2 reasons,
a. India is only the fourth country to get a specialized and modern satellite.
b. This will make India stronger, and even more secure place and will bring further peace and harmony.
• This Mission is a highly complex one, but it was done with remarkable precision and this shows the dexterity of India's scientists and our potential in space programme.
