Meanwhile founder of IndianRoots, Rahul Narvekar has an admirably inspirational rags to riches tale. Accordingly Rahul had to work as a delivery boy, ward boy, take tuition, etc to earn and contribute towards his education. Furthermore in-college hurdles never left Rahul, he juggled between colleges as he didn’t have enough money to pay his fees and somehow he completed his bachelor’s degree and enrolled himself in a business entrepreneurship course.
Further after college he worked for some time for TSN and also became a part of Asia’s first music channel Oxygen which eventually couldn’t survive. As per report he co-founded fashionandyou.com an e-commerce store but due to personal problems he had to exit from it. Moreover during this time Rahul got in touch with a news channel who wanted to start an online portal to sell ethnic wear and it was then Rahul launched indianroots.com which broke even within eight months of its launch.
Apparently Rahul Narvekar started as a Senior Manager of District Center, Janakpuri with ANSAL API in January 2001 and headed Non Traditional Revenue at North India’s First mall in Khelgaon, Delhi, India. Perhaps after a stint of 3 years and 9 months, Rahul worked with Gold Souk Gurgaon as Vice President Marketing. Moreover he later joined Suncity Projects as Head Retail in 2007 and went on to be the General Manager at DOF Retail Developers Ltd in 2008 where he headed the Mall of India project aimed at introducing ultra-large format malls in the Indian subcontinent.
