The Election Commission has issued orders to transfer Kadapa and Srikakulam SP along with IB Director General, AB Venkateswara Rao. Chandrababu Naidu restrained the transfer of the IB Chief saying that IB had no connection with the election functions. Government challenged the EC order in the High Court.
The government has transferred the DG after the high court refused to interfere in the Election Commission Orders. This has come as a massive embarrassment for the State Government. He was ordered to report to the police headquarters. This is the order issued by CS Anil Chandra Punita on Friday.
On the other side, YSR Congress is also pressing for the Transfer of DGP, RP Thakur. They represented the same to the Election Commission the other day. The voting for Andhra Pradesh Elections will take place on April 11th and the results will be out on May 23rd.
