Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao was attacked at a polling booth on the election day. Sattenappalli police said that so far booked 35 persons in this incident. Also, the case was registered against YSR Congress MLA Candidate Ambati Rambabu for instigating the attack. Many of the accused have been taken into custody and have been detained for the purpose.
Some of the accused are on a run. YSR Congress alleges that the Police are still acting at the behest of the TDP leaders and are foisting fake cases on their leaders. They are warning Police of dire consequences after they come to Power for being chamchas of the TDP leaders. Ambati Rambabu lost to Kodela Shiva Prasad Rao in Sattenappalli in 2014.
And now he is the candidate once again from YSR Congress. On the other side, YSR Congress Mangalagiri MLA, Alla Rama Krishna Reddy also staged a dharna at the local police station for filing cases on YSR Congress cadre while TDP cadre is left Scott free after all the violence they have created on the polling day.
