According to research institute Oxford Economics, all the top 10 fastest-growing cities by GDP between 2019 and 2035 will be in India. It is a proud achievement that all the top ten fastest growing cities are all in India. Two cities - one each from both the Telugu States have found a place in the list.
Hyderabad is in fourth place while Vijayawada is in Tenth place. Surat, a large city in the northwestern state of Gujarat is in First Place while Agra is in the second place. Surat is renowned as a diamond processing and trading center, but it also has a strong IT sector. Bengaluru is ahead of Hyderabad and is in the third position.
Chennai, the Capital of Tamil Nadu is above Vijayawada in the ninth position. India’s dominance of the list of fastest-growing cities illustrates the broader theme of the tipping of economic might from West to East. The study looked at 780 cities across the globe to arrive at this conclusion.
