According to sources the infighting among some important leaders of the YSR Congress in Chittoor district, eyeing the Cabinet berths if the party comes to power, has gone to extreme levels where they even worked against the victory of their opponents with a view to lower their prospects for demanding ministries, in case the party is voted to power.
Meanwhile usually, these few leaders reportedly worked to strengthen the party but when it comes to settling their scores, the party's interests had taken a backseat. Furthermore these leaders, it is learnt, have tried to ensure that their rivals do not get a majority and had taken necessary steps in that direction. Sources added some YSRC leaders did not cooperate with party's firebrand leader and Nagari candidate R.K. Roja during the campaigning, only because they felt she would be their contender in securing the Cabinet berth.
Apparently there will be not more than two ministry posts given to any district. In such a case, they felt Roja would be the major contender for the berth from Chittoor district and tried to lower her winning prospects. However, Roja is reportedly confident of winning the MLA seat.
