Ram Gopal Varma's Controversial Film, Lakshmi's NTR did not release in Andhra Pradesh after a stay by the Andhra Pradesh High Court on the movie release. The makers have recently announced that the movie will release on May 1st in Andhra Pradesh. But the movie release was stalled by the Election Commission in the last minute.
The Election Commission confirmed that the earlier orders of the Central Election Commission are in force. CEC earlier issued a notification which bars the release of all Political Biopics until the Code of Conduct is over on May 23rd, the counting day. In the event of this clarification, the movie got postponed once again.
Two Film Theaters in Kadapa have screened Lakshmi's NTR for the Noon Shows on May 1st defying the orders of the Election Commission. The Poll Body took a stern decision to cancel the license of both the theaters and the State Election Commission also recommended to the Central Election Commission to take action on Kadapa District Joint Collector who could not stop the film screening.
