Stalin said campaigning for the DMK candidate Dr Saravanan for the May 19 Assembly by-poll from Thiruparankundram near Madurai "Both here and in Ottapidaram, women came up to me to say that they had in the past been voting for 'Two leaves' as they considered 'Amma' (Ms Jayalalitha) as their Goddess who would take care of them, but now we will vote for 'Rising Sun', the DMK's symbol after what the AIADMK leaders have done to her". Furthermore reiterating that both the Modi led BJP government at the Centre and the Edappadi K Palaniswami led AIADMK regime in Tamilnadu should go for their anti-people policies, Stalin said the DMK candidate for Thiruparankundram had already won a moral victory with the Madras High Court having set aside the election of the late AIADMK MLA, A. K. Bose.

Stalin extolled while seeking votes for the DMK candidate "They all became MPs, MLAs and even Ministers because of Ms Jayalalitha, but they couldn't care less for her and people should teach the AIADMK government, which even denied six feet of land on the Marina to lay to rest DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi, a lesson”.
