Reportedly from Leads available as per the Election Commission shows BJP surging far ahead in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the Mahagathbandhan (alliance), leading on 54 out of 74 seats so far. Meanwhile this clearly shows that the modi magic has worked again in UP and the alliance, which is leading on just 18 seats, has not clicked in UP.
Furthermore people seem to have voted for development and modi's face for PM rather than caste factors, as per the initial leads. Apparently Congress is shown leading only on the Rae Bareli seat so far, showing no citadel is safe amidst the BJP wave in UP.
Election Commission of india says as per current trends available for 495 constituencies, BJP is leading in 269 while INC is leading in 51, DMK in 20, AITC in 20, YSRC in 19 and Shivsena in 18. In Rajasthan out of 25 seats BJP is leading in 24 seats and its ally RLP is leading on one and Congress is trailing on all seats including that of jodhpur from where chief minster Ashok Gehlot’s son Vaibhav is trailing to union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Hence this is showing better results than what was predicted in the exit polls
