The free medicare for employees of Fed Service is said to be the crux of the protest and the opposition in the Senate which has led to shut down in Federal govt functioning in the worlds strongest and largest democracy next to India . The free medicare to US citizens is considered one of the primary fuctions of the US Goverment as percived in the new regime of Barak Obama and now he is said to befacing huge political hurdels by his political opponents. A senior US consulate official said the Obama medicare sop was more or less atuned to principles laid down by YSR welfare sops.
In his tenure as former CM YSR allocated over Rs.2500 crore towards medicare for poor which was enjoyed by over 2.5 lakh families with corporate medical facilities on basis of their white ration cards . In Kiran Govt hardly 30,000 persons were provided only Rs.150 crore for the same benefits .
