In a new move, the Tamil Nadu government has passed an order insisting that the women employed in Tamil Nadu government office must be wearing Dupatta whenever they are wearing Chudidhar. There have been rules and dress code set already for government offices, but this measure has been taken after it was observed that many were violating them, as per reports.

It has been said that, due to the modern outfits worn by government employees at work, many get distracted and this also causes various troubles, following which government authorities have received many complaints reportedly. Following this a new government order has been issued by the chief secretary girija Vaithyanathan.

 


As per the order, women employed in government offices can wear Sarees, Chudidhar, Salwar Kameez, but it is mandatory to wear Dupatta along with Chudidhar and Salwar. Men must be clad in formal shirts and trousers, and avoid T-shirts, and when male govt officials visit court, they must be wearing coat and tie, while women must wear Dupatta when they wear saree, Chudidhar or Salwar, and the colors must be simple and plain, read the government order.
