Governor ESL Narasimhan ordered the re-allocation of all government buildings here that were earmarked for Andhra Pradesh at the time of its bifurcation in 2014, to Telangana government. The orders were issued on the fifth Formation Day celebrations of Telangana and as a goodwill gesture from Andhra Pradesh.

The order came a day after the joint talks with the Chief Ministers of both states. The government buildings in hyderabad were equally allocated to governments of the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana following the bifurcation in 2014. However, as the AP government had shifted to Amaravati in 2015-16, the buildings were since lying vacant.

The AP government was paying electricity bills and other maintenance costs of the buildings though it was not utilizing them. Andhra Pradesh Government is seeking Buildings Value for giving them five years to Telangana. This is besides waiving off the Pending Property Tax Arrears. So, this is a Win-Win situation for both states.
