In his maiden election, Chandrababu Naidu's son, Nara lokesh has lost very badly. He lost to his nearest rival from YSR Congress, Alla Rama krishna Reddy by a margin of 5000 Plus Votes. Alla just managed to win the same seat with 12 votes in 2014 elections. This is a huge setback for Chandrababu Naidu who is keen on promoting his son as his heir.
lokesh entered Naidu's Cabinet via Council but did not resign to his MLC position before contesting as MLA. Technically, he can continue as an MLC since he did not win as MLA. Buzz is that Chandrababu Naidu is planning to make him the Leader of Opposition in Council which will be shameful if true.
In the Council of 51 members, Telugu Desam Party still holds the majority with 31 seats while YSR Congress just have eight. So, Chandrababu Naidu will try to propel Nara lokesh's image using the majority in the council. This is a very shameful decision if Nara lokesh does and is also an injustice to the MLCs already in the party.
