Sources from Amaravathi stated that Sriram Subramanyam, a senior advocate in the Andhra Pradesh High Court was officially appointed as the state's Advocate-General (AG) on Tuesday. Reportedly Chief Secretary LV Subramanyam issued a Government Order (GO) under Article 165 (1) of the Constitution of india for the same. Meanwhile sriram will replace outgoing AG Dammalapati Srinivas, who was appointed by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government.

Reports added that sriram Subramanyam was born on July 5 1969 and completed his legal education from Baba Saheb Ambedkar Law University in Aurangabad. Apparently he enrolled as an advocate on August 27,1992 and began his career in the office of the C V Ramulu, who later went on to become a judge. Further an expert in constitutional law, education law and service law he is currently, engaged in civil, criminal, commercial, arbitration work and is considered an expert in constitutional cases.



Previously AP Chief Minister YS jagan met the acting Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh HC C praveen Kumar last week. Moreover in a meeting that lasted 45 minutes, jagan is learnt to have asked the CJ to constitute a special judicial commission in an attempt to reform the state's tendering policy and provide a corruption-free and transparent system.
