Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal seems to be back in limelight after resigning from the Congress party and quitting his position as an MP. Sources say that irrespective of allegations that he seeks united AP only for his business reasons, he is determined to take his battle against Telangana statehood to its logical conclusions.
Lagadapati has reportedly consulted leading legal experts in the country and is reportedly confident that Telangana process can be halted in Supreme Court since the Assembly is being ignored completely. There is an ambiguity over this issue as to whether Assembly approval can be bypassed at central level.
The coming days is full of tension and also interesting with the United AP agitation reaching its peak and it has to be seen whether Seemandhra Congress leaders can gain in Supreme Court what they have lost due to the attitude of their leadership! It is here that Lagadapati has to play a crucial role.
