Chief Minister YS jagan Mohan Reddy in his statement in the Assembly on the last day of this session which is part of the motion on thanks to Governor's speech sprang a surprise on the Opposition. Out of nowhere, jagan moved a resolution demanding the Special Status to Andhra Pradesh and also rejected the Special Package proposed by the Center.


jagan Mohan Reddy blame on the then TDP Government saying that it did not pursue the issue with the Planning Commission. He also blamed that the TDP Government played dramas in the name of Special Package. He proved his commitment to the Special Status by moving a resolution in the First Assembly Session itself.


In the first meeting with the Prime Minister after becoming the Chief Minister, jagan in a press meet said that he can not do anything about the Special Status as BJP got a complete majority in the Parliament. The Opposition is trying to corner jagan using that statement and he duly retaliated with this move.
