KCR called our Prime Minister Modi a fascist and he stands by it! He also strongly defended his decision of not inviting the Prime Minister for the inauguration of the Kaleshwaram project, which he claimed is the world’s largest multi-stage lift irrigation scheme and is scheduled to happen on June 21. He also added the project would utilise water from the Godavari, which flows through Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

He asked that why should I invite him? Is there any such rule that we should invite him to every inauguration? We invited Modi to the inauguration of Mission Bhagiratha in the past, though there was no financial assistance or for the matter of fact any kind of assistance from the Centre despite a recommendation from NITI Aayog. He also added that the Kaleshwaram being such a huge project we didn’t even receive a single penny from Centre.

KCR has also skipped the Prime Minister’s swearing-in ceremony on May 30 and also the NITI Aayog meeting last week. He also said that the Kaleshwaram project is his dream project and he has invited Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for the grand opening ceremony. The first meeting of irrigation officials of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh states would take place in Hyderabad on June 25, which would be followed by another meeting in Vijayawada, he said.
