hyderabad sources reported that Kaleshwaram, one of the most prestigious project and pride of Telangana is all set for inauguration. Meanwhile this project is dubbed as the world's largest multi-stage lift irrigation project across the godavari river in Telangana. Furthermore kcr declared yesterday that the launch will be considered a state festival. Apparently the celebrations at the Kaleshwaram project site begun amid vedic chants.
Meanwhile kcr and his wife performed pooja at the site with yagnams presided over by scores of priests. Reportedly Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao will formally inaugurate the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) on Friday in the presence of his Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh counterpart YS jagan Mohan Reddy and Telangana Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan.
Moreover termed as the biggest achievement by india's youngest state, the project has been designed to irrigate 45 lakh acres of land for two crops in a year besides meeting drinking water requirement of 70 per cent of the state. Perhaps officials say the Rs 80,000 crore Kaleshwaram project is a major step towards the goal of "Bangaru Telangana" (golden Telangana) set by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government by bringing one crore acre area under irrigation.
