Furthermore the order was issued on Monday as the government building was in violation of rules and involved corruption and the Chief Minister stated that the complex was built illegally and constructed by the previous government in 2017 at a cost of Rs 5 crore. Reportedly the furniture, electronic equipment, and other segregate items which can be reused were removed from the premises. Police personnel were deployed outside the building to avoid any untoward situations if protests erupt against the demolition.

Moreover the building was constructed during the tenure of former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati, located next to his residence and Chandrababu, who was on vacation abroad is scheduled to return tonight. Apparently the building was used as a venue to meet the public, hold press conferences and conduct administrative work. Previously, the TDP President had written to the new Chief Minister to allow him to retain the hall to function as the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly.
