Amaravathi sources made a statement that there is a deluge in terms of applications for Village Volunteers across the State, indicating a huge response from the youth. Meanwhile over two lakh youth have already submitted their applications in the last four days since the recruitment process began.
Furthermore on the other hand, the Village Volunteers' website is attracting lakhs of visitors. So far more than nine lakh web users have visited the site. Apparently as the number of applications is in lakhs, officials have already begun the verification much before the scheduled verification process. Further as per the State government schedule, applications should be invited until July 5 and the carry out the verification on July 10 followed by interviews on July 11.
Moreover due to the overwhelming number of applications, Panchayati raj department, which is the nodal agency for the rolling out the programme, decided to carry out verification as the applications are coming in. Perhaps Mandal committees have already begun the process and the application process began on June 24.
