Telangana BJP had registered dismal results in the last year Assembly Elections. The party just managed a Single MLA and meager 7% vote share in the recent elections. The party lost deposits in 103 seats of the total 118 seats they contested. The Party President lakshman and the Party's Floor Leader in the Assembly, Kishan Reddy also lost the election.

lakshman ended up in a shameful third position in his Musheerabad constituency. But then, the party registered a stunning turnaround by winning Four MP seats in the recent elections. Kishan Reddy who won as Secunderabad MP is elevated to the Union Cabinet. BJP is eying power in 2023 assembly elections, cashing in on the recent victory in four Lok Sabha seats.

According to party sources, Union minister of state for home G Kishan Reddy has emerged as a front runner in the party for the CM post. He hails from Reddy community, which is inclining towards the BJP after the failure of the Congress party. Since Reddys are traditional rivals of Velamas, they are looking towards the BJP to take on the TRS chief.
