South Korean auto major Kia Motors which had set up its first plant in india in Anantapur, will launch the first car on August 8th. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS jagan Mohan Reddy will inaugurate the Production that day. Representatives of Kia motors have already met state government officials several times to discuss the Chief Minister's visit.


Kia Motors had commenced trial production in January this year. The company had then announced that it invested $1 billion in the facility. YSR Congress has opposed this plant while in Opposition but Kia President and CEO Han-woo-Park wrote to jagan Mohan Reddy on June 13, recalling how Late YSR's request in 2007 prompted them to come to Andhra Pradesh.


Kia Motors Plant is the Single Largest Investment of Andhra Pradesh after the state bifurcation. In fact, it is one of the biggest foreign investments in the entire country. While Chandrababu claimed it as his achievement, Kia President and CEO Han-woo-Park's letter changed the entire scenario. Besides the Automobile Plant, Several Ancillary units have also come up in the surroundings bringing a lot of jobs.
