Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS jagan Mohan Reddy, a few days ago, made an open statement in the assembly in its first session itself that he will not encourage defections. “I can split the TDP MLAs and lure them into my party. But if I do that, there will be no difference between me and Chandrababu Naidu,” he said.

But then, jagan came to hyderabad before leaving for israel and met kcr at pragathi Bhavan. During this meeting, kcr reportedly asked jagan to reconsider this decision as this is opening gates for BJP in the state. He also told jagan Mohan Reddy that this is giving breathing space to TDP which should be already out by now.

He advised the YSRC to start the process of dividing the TDP at least now, but it is not known whether jagan had agreed with kcr or not. It has to be seen if jagan will change his decision which is against his values. TDP has just managed to win 23 out of the 17 seats in the State Assembly. If 18 MLAs of the party switch to another party, Telugu Desam Legislative Party will be merged into that party's Legislative Party. kcr did the same in Telangana for TDP, YSR Congress, and Congress.
