YSR Congress Government had put on hold bills worth Rs 38000 crore on its table that it needs to clear. 10000 crore has been classified by the new government as “unnecessary and wasteful expenditure” incurred by its predecessor. 400 crore Bills were pending as expenditure for taking thousands of people from all over Andhra Pradesh on a bus tour to Polavaram irrigation project site.
The Then Government has spent another 200 crores on bringing people to Amaravati to show the work taking place in the proposed state capital. There are bills pending towards the construction of the Interim Secretariat. The rate was a whopping Rs 11000 per square feet but the construction is so bad that it leaks during the monsoon.
Chandrababu Naidu Government also spent a whopping 39 Crore for the Chief Minister's Foreign Trips. In one of the Trips, 1.3 Crore Bill was footed for a Single Lunch for the attendees. Various Investment Summits were conducted with not much use. The bills for them are pending and the new government does not wish to clear the payment.
