Amaravathi sources made a statement that a new inter-city double-decker Express train will soon be introduced between Vijayawada and visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. As per report Railway Minister Piyush Goyal informed Rajya Sabha member G V L Narasimha Rao about this after the latter made the request two months ago.
Meanwhile Rao said here in a statement Thursday that the new train 'Uday' would run for five days a week. Railway minister said in his reply to the MP "Hope this will go a long way in providing better connectivity to the passengers," and the who pointed out that it was a "long-felt need.
Moreover this is the first new Express train to be announced after the Railways decision to establish the south Coast Zone with headquarters at visakhapatnam. Apparently according to railway sources here a trial run of Uday is currently being carried out and the formal launch date will be notified soon.
