Reportedly the Jammu and Kashmir Police have said the situation in the state was peaceful and no untoward incident has been reported in last one week. Director General of Police dilbagh singh said "There has been no untoward incident barring minor stone-pelting which was dealt with on the spot and was nipped in the bud”.

Furthermore he was asked about the situation in the state after Congress leader rahul Gandhi told media persons in New delhi that situation in J-K have deteriorated. Minutes after Gandhi made the statement, the srinagar Police also tweeted that the situation was peaceful. It said "Situation in valley has remained normal today. No untoward incident has been reported. At selective locations restriction was lifted temporarily”.



Moreover Kargil Deputy Commissioner Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary in a statement said that all arrangements are in place to ensure that the people's requirements for ration, medicines and other essentials are met fully. Desperate to make their way home, hundreds of migrant laborers also continued to arrive at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from Kashmir region, with many complaining that they were not paid fully by their employers and overcharged by private transporters.
