There are reports that a home ministry under the leadership of Vijay Kumar, former head of CRPF will be coming to Hyderabad to directly interact with the stakeholders of the city. Sources say that the team is expected to speak to a cross section of people, government representatives and others.
This also confirms TRS suspicions that the CWC’s decision regarding Hyderabad’s status is not final and there may be many changes envisaged for the future of Hyderabad. The team will be entrusted with the task of deciding whether the capital city will remain exclusively for Telangana in future and whether it can be made a Union territory.
The team will be arriving tomorrow and it comes close on the heels of President Pranab referring Kiran Kumar Reddy’s letter to Home Ministry for clarifications! Many say the best option for Hyderabad would be to become a Union Territory and only that can pacify everyone if Telangana is inevitable.
