The President of the united states of America Donald Trump announced new rules which aim to ignore permanent residency and citizenship to migrants as they get all the public benefits such as food stamps, Medicaid and other welfare.
These have threatened to set back the citizenship of millions of people who work as migrants for low wages and they rely entirely on the public services to get these benefits. These new rules also closed the doors for low-skilled migrants who hoped to get a Permanent Residence (PR) in the united states.
The White House said, "All migrants will be blocked from entering the country in case they are likely to get any public assistance." Also, those who are already in the USA and use public services also can't get green cards or US Citizenship. USA President said in a statement said, "To protect benefits for American citizens, immigrants must be financially self-sufficient. Large numbers of non-citizens and their families have taken advantage of our generous public benefits which could affect native Americans."
