Reportedly a local court in Rajasthan had acquitted six out of the nine accused in 2017 Pehlu Khan lynching case. Meanwhile the court of Additional District Judge, Sarita Swami, heard the case on Wednesday, for which arguments from both the sides were completed on August 7. Previously six people, who were previously named as accused in the case, were given clean chit based on mobile phone records and the statement of the caretaker of a cow shelter and the remaining three accused are minors and are being tried in a juvenile court.

Additional Public Prosecutor Yogendra Khatana said "The Alwar court acquitted all six lynching accused giving them benefit of doubt”. Meanwhile ahead of the verdict, the lawyer of Pehlu Khan and his family in the mob lynching case, Qasim Khan, said that he expected life imprisonment for the seven accused in the case. He said "There was political pressure in the case. We expect life imprisonment for the seven accused on whom the verdict will be pronounced today”.

Moreover Maulana Hanif told, "I have been pursuing the case closely. I was there when the postmortem of Pehlu Khan happened. We are expecting stringent punishment for the killers of Pehlu Khan so that others get the message." Perhaps Pehlu Khan, his two sons and four others were on their way to Haryana's Nuh on April 1, 2017, when they were attacked by a mob on National Highway 8 linking Jaipur to delhi on suspicion of cow smuggling. Hence they were on their way back from a cattle fair in Jaipur after purchasing cows and other bovine animals. Pehlu received fatal injuries and passed away at a hospital in Alwar, three days later.
