Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Botcha Satyanarayana speaking to the media in Vishakapatnam had hinted about a change in the Capital from Amaravati. "The Government is discussing the Capital. Very soon, we will be making a decision on it. The Government will reveal its opinion in the announcement which will come very soon," Botcha said.

"Amaravati Construction Cost is becoming more than normal. A lot of public money is getting wasted as a result. We have seen how several areas got submerged due to the recent floods. We have to construct canals and dams to prevent that. Due to that, there is an additional burden on the government," the Minister said.

Meanwhile, in Amaravati, The real estate in the AP capital region Amaravati, which was in bloom right till the beginning of the Assembly elections a few months ago, is now in a state of gloom after the State Government has brought all the Government Development Projects in the Capital Region to a Standstill.
