Earlier this week, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has announced that the government is committed to making visakhapatnam the IT hub of the State. jagan is of the opinion that due to the lapses of the previous TDP government, nearly 98% of IT jobs were generated in hyderabad in the last five years, whereas only 2% was shared by cities like visakhapatnam. Besides, the previous government diverted nearly Rs 185-crore to other works.

AP is the first government in the country to introduce a provision of allocating 75% of jobs in industry to locals. To help the local youths, YSR Skill Development Centres will be set up in every parliamentary constituency. The Chief Minister is now keen on bringing more IT industries to Vishakapatnam. He is of the opinion that TDP ignoring Vishakapatnam led to its downfall in Uttarandhra and so, jagan does not want to repeat the mistake.

Vishakapatnam is the most favorable city in Andhra Pradesh to attract the IT industries. But the previous government has focused on taking those companies to Vijayawada which deprived Vishakapatnam its rightful share of development and employment opportunities.
