Andhra Pradesh Government has taken a sensational decision. All the Government Schools in the State will impart teaching in English medium from Class I to VIII from next academic year. Chief Minister YS jagan Mohan Reddy directed the education department officials to prepare plans to prepare 70,000 teachers to teach in English medium.

The Chief Minister is of the opinion that Telugu Medium students of the Government schools are lagging behind the English Medium Students when it comes to Job Search. The Government already gave the much-needed fillip to the Government Schools by introducing Amma Vodi Scheme which gives 15000 Rupees every year to the mother of every school-going child.

According to the reports, the scheme has a positive impact on the admissions in government schools across the State. Almost all the Government schools in the state have registered increased admissions. Some of the dropouts are also coming back to resume their education. Now this decision of imparting the education in English Medium will further increase the patronage of Government Schools. On the other side, the Chief Minister also promised that the infrastructure of government schools would be improved in three years with a target of 100% literacy.
