This is also the second oldest University in Andhra Pradesh, while the first oldest University is Andhra University. This college has some notable Alumni students like Late YS Rajasekara Reddy, Ex-CM Chandrababu Naidu, Mr.prem Reddy and so on. Such a reputed university which is more than 65 years old is now facing some bad image due to the current registrar.

There have been some reports around that a physically challenged person has been arrested and tortured mentally in the Registrar's office and they also have embarrassed a disabled representative. He was detained and forced to sign some documents and they never left him.  The party who has bullied the physically challenged person is in direct contact with the ruling party and things may not change unless some high authorities are directly involved in this matter.
