'I was made a scapegoat while Geeta Reddy allowed to escape in order to put Jagan behind bars '. This is the statement of Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao, the tainted former excise minister who joined the YSRC party yesterday . Mopidevi has spilled the beans about congress high command and the CBI that has been hatched to stem the growth of Jagan.
Mopidevi was first to be arrested in Jagan case and put behind bars without even seeking the approval from the state government . But inside sources say that CM Kiran had given permission though he had with held the permission for other ministers including Geeta Reddy . ' Geeta Reddy was first to be arrested but on Kiran's persuasion she was let off and Mopidevi was picked up ' says a senior CBI official.
Mopidevi a backward class leader of Guntur was very close to YSR and also Jagan . So he was made the scapegoat in the Vanpic case though the crime of Geeta Reddy in the Lepakshi and Brahmani land grants was huge and grave ' said a police official and a legal expert handling the Jagan case iin the state Government .
