Reportedly fuel prices continued its upward trend on Friday with petrol at Rs 74.34 per litre in New delhi and Rs 80 per litre in mumbai. Meanwhile the diesel price remained unchanged in New delhi at Rs 67.14 a litre, it stood at Rs 70.55 per litre increased by 11 paise.

Reports stated in kolkata, the prices of petrol and diesel continued to rise Rs 77.03 per litre and Rs. 69.66 per litre respectively. In Chennai, the rate of petrol was Rs. 77.28 per litre and that of diesel stood at Rs. 71.09 per litre. Furthermore in Noida, a consumer would have to shell out Rs 75.77 a litre for petrol and Rs 67.56 a litre for diesel. On Thursday, the diesel price had soared to Rs 67.46 a litre and petrol price Rs 75.66 per litre in the city.



Moreover this is the tenth daily increase after some relief on Wednesday. Global oil prices shot up the most since the Gulf war in the immediate aftermath of the unprecedented drone missile strikes on key oil facilities in saudi arabia that disabled 5 per cent of the global supply. Perhaps india depends on saudi arabia for a fifth of its oil imports and has been in constant touch with Kingdom officials on securing its supplies.
