The Hindu was barred from citing scriptural evidence in 70 years old litigation case pertaining to Ram Janambhoomi Babri masjid case. The five judge bench said its not the time to cite the evidence.The supreme court barred the Hindu side to cite scriptural evidence in disputed land of 2.77 acres in Ram janambhoomi Babri masjid land in ayodhya.

The five judge bench said that 70 years old land dispute case will be endless if parties cited evidence in appeal stage. Hindu side has cited chapters of ‘Skanda purana' to claim the deity status of Ram Janamsthan' the five judge bench told the Hindu parties that if they cited any fresh evidence, the party on other side would also be eligible to cite new evidence, thus making this endless affair. 
 
CJI Gogoi constituted the five judge bench through discretionary powers, the appeal from Muslim side for five judge bench was dismissed by High court earlier. This case is touted as the most important case in history of Indian judicial system. The case was running in Allahabad high court for many years before it was appealed in Supreme court.
