Karnataka becomes the first south Indian state to implement NRC, the controversial move is proposed by state government to identify illegal immigrants in the state.The Karnataka government will implement the (National register for citizen) NRC in the state to weed out the illegal immigrants. After assam submitted its NRC, states like Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Haryana and, Uttarakhand will give consent to NRC. 
     
State Home minister Basavaraj Bommai had handful of meetings over fast few weeks, he has instructed the police department to prepare the database of illegal immigrants in the state. According to him the police department has already started the work. 
     
Bengaluru south MP Tejasvi Surya had requested the government and home minister to bring NRC in the state in LS. He said its necessary to implement NRC in state to identify the illegal settlers, which are serious threat to security of the country. He further claimed that there are about 40,000 illegal immigrants in the capital city Bengaluru alone. He also claimed that CM HD Kumaraswamy himself admitted this fact.  
   
Most of prominent leaders from saffron party has wished and demanded implementation of NRC in the whole country.
