Reiterating that the jagan government’s topmost priority is farmers’ welfare, Minister for Agriculture kurasala kannababu has said as many as 40 lakh farmers in the State were identified for the YSR Rythu Bharosa. The minister announced that utmost care is taken to ensure that the money reaches only the needy. But a day after the announcement, the government is in for a major embarrassment.

Education Minister, Dr. Aadimoolapu suresh figured in the beneficiaries list even though he falls out of the eligibility criteria. After a huge controversy was blown out after the news spread. The Government had taken remedial measures. The Minister himself came before the media and announced that it is a goof-up of the officials and instructed them to inquire about what went wrong. There are now doubts about how the beneficiaries were finalized for the scheme.

Under Raithu Bharosa, the government will extend financial assistance ranging between Rs 6,500 to Rs 12,500 to farmers. All farmers who own land and have been receiving the central assistance of Rs 6,000 under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nididhi will get an additional assistance of Rs 6,500 from the state government. Those excluded from the central support and tenant farmers from weaker sections would get Rs 12,500 under the scheme.
