Furthermore the police say that in her confessions, Jolly had stated that she was inspired to use the lethal chemical after reading newspaper clippings and reports of cyanide deaths. Perhaps to learn how she procured the cyanide, the police had initially investigated the NIT kozhikode campus, where Jolly claimed to have worked for 14 years. Further during these investigations, the police also learnt that Jolly would visit a tailoring shop, a beauty parlor, two churches and others places where she met people, under the pretext of going to work and the police will provide evidence of Jolly’s interactions and movements in court.

Simon added “Cyanide is not easy to procure.  We searched the NIT campus and the labs to see if any cyanide was missing and they showed us correct records and it was clear that they did not have any cynaide missing. This led us to investigate other links and that is how we came to Mathew and Praji Kumar the other accused in the death of Roy Thomas. We learnt that Mathew supplies cyanide and that twice, Jolly had procured cyanide”. Moreover speaking on the deaths, Simon also said that the frequency of Jolly’s alleged murders kept increasing and that if she had not been arrested, more deaths could probably have taken place.
