There are reports that coming in that Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi has reportedly given her nod for Rayala Telangana in the proposed draft Telangana bill which will be submitted by the GoM to the UPA government.
Sources say that this was always an option which was considered by Congress high command and it wanted to play a smart game where other parties can keep guessing. With Rayala Telangana, Congress is reportedly planning to neutralize the Velama card being played by KCR.
And it can use Reddy vote bank in South Telangana and Kurnool and Ananthapur districts to come to power. If Rayalaseema is bifurcated, Jagan will be taking the maximum hit since his vote bank will also evenly bifurcated such that he cannot come to power in any region that easily.
So, unless he mergers his party to become Congress CM in Seemandhra (Chittoor and Cuddapah plus Coastal Andhra) things will not change. Compared to TRS and Jagan, Naidu may be better placed with good number of seats in Coastal Andhra as well as trying to grab the Congress vote bank in Telangana plus BC support!
