Reports stated faulty EVMs delayed polling at some booths in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri and Bhandara districts on Monday. An official said “Polling was also halted for sometime at a booth in Worli area of mumbai due to a technical error”. Furthermore the state Congress unit also sent 187 complaints to the Election Commission of malfunctioning of EVMs. In Ratnagiri's Dhamangaon village, polling was stopped at a booth from 8.30 am to 10 am due to a technical fault in the electronic voting machine (EVM). Perhaps the EVM glitch also halted the polling process at a booth in Kalamban Gavhanwadi village in Ratnagiri since 9.42 am, adding that voting resumed there around 12.30 pm.

Further a disabled voter carried by a relative shows up to cast vote at a polling station in Beed, Maharashtra. haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Anurag Agarwal has issued a show-cause notice to BJP candidate Bakshish Singh for allegedly saying "every vote on EVM is for BJP" in a viral video. Agarwal said "The candidate has said that the video was edited. The matter is being investigated".

 

When requesting people to come out and exercise their right to vote, legendary cricketer sachin tendulkar said, "Voting is very important, I would like to say that whoever is eligible should come out and vote. We all want to move forward and for that, we need to start. I would request that that people should come and cast their votes."
