As if the insult and indifference by Congress high command is not enough for Telugu people, now the much awaited Brajesh Kumar Tribunal’s judgment on Krishna River has scripted death for Andhra Pradesh. The tribunal has reportedly permitted Karnataka to increase the height of Almatti dam from current 521 meters to 524 meters which according to experts will push agricultural season by another one month in Krishna basin in AP. This is also expected to have a ripple effect on storage water levels in Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sugar. The tribunal’s report also puts Jalayagnam projects worth Rs.50,000 crores in jeopardy. Unfortunately, none of our politicians are contesting it. As expected, the Telugu people have been fooled by an irresponsible government while Karnataka and Maharashtra have whole heartedly welcomed the tribunal report on Krishna river! It now remains to be seen how things will improve.
