According to sources the fresh spell of rainfall across karnataka has taken the lives of 13 people and displaced more than 7,000 people in the state. Meanwhile all 13 deaths were reported in the central and northern districts of Koppal (4), Haveri, Belagavi (2 each), Davangere, Raichur, Chitradurga, Dharwad, Bagalkot (1 each). With many areas flooded, six National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been deployed in Belagavi (2), Gadag, Dharwad, Haveri, Bagalkot (1 each). Perhaps 28 rehabilitation centers have been opened across the state to house 7220 people displaced by the rains.

Apparently coastal, central and northern districts of the state received widespread moderate rainfall in the last 24 hours, a situation report by the Chief Minister's office stated. Furthermore the report said that 150 animals lives were lost while more than 10,000 houses were damaged due to the rains. Hence this included 202 houses that were damaged completely, of which 160 are from Haveri district. 



Moreover the spell of rains which began on October 18 affected 27 of the 30 districts in the state and the reservoirs in the krishna and Cauvery basin in karnataka are either at or near full reservoir level, the situation report by CMO stated. Perhaps more than 4 lakh people were displaced by the floods in August, particularly in the northern part of the state and landslides affected areas in Malnad region of the state.
