Keeping aside Seemandhra-Telangana differences and political party differences, one has to learn how the folks of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka fight for their rights. In terms of political power, we boast of 42 Lok Sabha seats and ‘great’ bargaining power. The Brajesh Kumar tribunal looks clearly tilted towards Karnataka, an upper riparian state in terms of Krishna river utilisation and when Almatti dam’s height was raised once 12-13 years ago, AP hasn’t still recovered from the loss. Even though the Supreme Court hasn’t given permission to further increase of Almatti dam’s height as requested by Karnataka, the state has got it approved by this tribunal while AP which had enjoyed certain ‘rights’ over surplus water now has lost the rights with the award given by this tribunal. The common man is wondering when United AP protagonists shout saying with 42 seats we are so strong, so don’t divide the state. They feel what is the use of having 42 and if there is no use of 42 MP’s from current AP, what will be the new loss to Telugu people if it becomes 25:17 when the state divides. Telugu people have always been cheated by their leaders!
