With the Centre hastening the process of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh by referring the AP States Reorganisation Bill 2013 to the AP Assembly, a growing number of Ministers and Congress MLAs have reportedly declared their open intention to desert the ruling party. Senior leaders like J. C. Diwakar Reddy, Minister for Infrastructure and Investment Ganta Srinivasa Rao openly declared that they need not stay any longer with Congress. Former Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao is all set to join the YSR Congress. Sources say that Digvijay has taken along with him a prepared a list of Congress MLAs and MPs who are likely to leave the party! Sources say that this is almost like a death certificate for the party in Seemandhra! There are 26 MLAs, including four Ministers, three from Rayalaseema and one from Coastal Andhra. Besides, one MP will be joining the TDP while another is trying to float a new party. The MLAs who will take plunge into YSR Congress and the TDP include six from North Coastal Andhra and an equal number of MLA’s from East and West Godavari in addition to Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore, Kadapa, Kurnool, Anantapur and Chittoor districts.
