AP Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar reportedly hinted at the prospect of voting on the draft Telangana Bill. While replying to a specific query by TDP member Ashok Gajapathi Raju on whether the draft Bill would be put to vote, the speaker said that the issue was discussed in the BAC (business advisory committee) meeting. The speaker reportedly said that the house will take appropriate action in accordance with the rights of the members following the ongoing debate. Sources say that in the Uttar Pradesh and Bihar assemblies, amendments were sought for bills which were later put to vote. If the AP speaker goes by the UP and Bihar examples, then the Bill can be put to vote even as Manohar preferred to keep up the suspense till the last day. As expected, Telangana MLAs are against any voting on the Bill. They are saying no member of the Assembly can ask for division or voting on the views expressed in the House on the reorganization of the state. But deeper within themselves, Telangana leaders are fearing that in case voting happens truly and if bill gets defeated, then all their efforts may go waste!
